(Medicines.org.uk)
(Medicines.org.uk)
(Medicines.org.uk)
ห้ามใช้ในผู้ที่มีหรือเคยมี arterial thromboembolism เช่น myocardial infarction, stroke หรือ TIA รวมถึงผู้ที่มี migraine with focal neurological symptoms
(Medicines.org.uk)
(Medicines.org.uk)
(Medicines.org.uk)
St. John’s Wort
(Medicines.org.uk)

Levonorgestrel 0.15 mg + Ethinylestradiol 0.03 mg is a combined oral contraceptive used to prevent pregnancy. It acts primarily by suppressing ovulation and also alters cervical mucus and the endometrium. (Medicines.org.uk)
This medicine is a combined oral contraceptive (COC) containing ethinylestradiol as the estrogen component and levonorgestrel as the progestogen component.
Its principal contraceptive effect results from suppression of the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis and inhibition of ovulation. It also increases cervical mucus viscosity and produces endometrial changes that contribute to contraceptive efficacy.
None.
This medicine has no antibacterial, antiviral, or antifungal activity and does not protect against HIV or other sexually transmitted infections.
Levonorgestrel is rapidly and almost completely absorbed after oral administration and has high systemic bioavailability. It binds to albumin and sex hormone-binding globulin and undergoes hepatic metabolism.
Ethinylestradiol is rapidly absorbed but undergoes extensive first-pass metabolism in the intestinal wall and liver and also undergoes partial enterohepatic circulation. (Medicines.org.uk)
Combined hormonal contraceptives are contraindicated in women with current or previous venous thromboembolism, significant thrombophilia, or a high risk of venous thrombosis.
They are also contraindicated in women with arterial thromboembolic disease, myocardial infarction, stroke or TIA, migraine with focal neurological symptoms, severe hypertension, diabetes with vascular complications, severe liver disease, liver tumours, hormone-dependent malignancy, or unexplained genital bleeding. (Medicines.org.uk)
The principal safety concern is venous and arterial thromboembolism.
Levonorgestrel-containing combined contraceptives are generally associated with a lower VTE risk than several combined contraceptives containing newer progestogens, although their risk remains higher than that of non-use.
Individual risk factors such as smoking, increasing age, obesity, migraine, hypertension, surgery, prolonged immobilisation, and personal or family thrombotic history should be assessed before treatment.
Pregnancy: This medicine is not indicated during pregnancy and should be discontinued if pregnancy occurs.
Breastfeeding: Combined hormonal contraceptives may reduce breast-milk production and alter milk composition, particularly during the early postpartum period.
Reported adverse effects include nausea, headache, breast tenderness, abdominal discomfort, mood changes, spotting, and breakthrough bleeding.
Serious but uncommon adverse reactions include deep-vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, myocardial infarction, and stroke.
Overdose may cause nausea, vomiting, and vaginal bleeding.
There is no specific antidote. Treatment is supportive and symptomatic.
Hepatic enzyme-inducing medicines may reduce contraceptive hormone concentrations and decrease effectiveness. Important examples include rifampicin, rifabutin, carbamazepine, phenytoin, phenobarbital, primidone, oxcarbazepine, topiramate, and St. John’s Wort.
Certain HIV and hepatitis C therapies may also alter hormone exposure.
Combined hormonal contraceptives may lower lamotrigine concentrations and potentially reduce seizure control. (Medicines.org.uk)
Levonorgestrel 0.15 mg + Ethinylestradiol 0.03 mg per active tablet
The specified ANNA 28 S’ pack contains 21 active tablets, each containing Levonorgestrel 0.15 mg and Ethinylestradiol 0.03 mg, followed by 7 hormone-free tablets containing lactose, for a total of 28 tablets per pack. (Han Ideal Trading)
Indicated for oral contraception in women. (MIMS)
Take one tablet daily at approximately the same time each day, following the arrows on the blister pack.
For ANNA 28, all 28 tablets are taken continuously. The first 21 tablets contain active hormones and the final 7 tablets are placebo tablets. The next pack should be started the day after the final tablet, without an additional tablet-free interval. (Alipharma Health)
When initiated on the first day of menstrual bleeding, contraceptive protection begins immediately. If started later in the cycle, additional barrier contraception may be required for the first 7 days depending on the clinical circumstances.
Management of missed active tablets depends on the number of tablets missed and the point in the cycle. The hormone-free interval should not exceed 7 days.
Combined hormonal contraceptives increase the risk of venous and arterial thromboembolic events.
Unilateral leg swelling or pain, sudden unexplained shortness of breath, chest pain, haemoptysis, sudden severe headache, unilateral weakness or numbness, speech disturbance, or sudden visual changes require urgent medical assessment. (Medicines.org.uk)
Store in the original packaging, protected from excessive heat, moisture, and direct sunlight. Follow the storage instructions on the specific ANNA 28 product labeling.
